Kid Hank tells tales from Sydney’s Inner West, dragging New Orleans tradition hard into the 21st Century in a cocktail of folk, blues and roots, harvesting an eclectic blend of toe-tapping sing-alongs.
Lead by Henry Manuell on banjo and vocals, with Robbie Mann on piano, Rob Campbell on trumpet and Dave Clayton on double bass, the band collaborates with collective improvisation, rehashing the old for a playful and vibrant sound.
Kid Hank isn’t the slightest bit afraid of jumping from genres and deconstructing a song only to reconstruct it once again.
